Ocean acidification is a serious and fast growing problem that is and will continue to affect Earth if we do not do something about it.
Definition: Ocean acidification is the ongoing decrease in the pH of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.
Problem: The oceans are becoming more acidic due to carbon dioxide entering the ocean and creating a chemical reaction with H20 an CO2 which releases carbolic acid or H2CO3 into all the spheres killing animals and plants, the oceans acidity has already increase by 36. Solution: Decrease pollution from cars, factories and anything that releases carbon dioxide. |
Basic graph on Ocean Acidification from 1958 to 2012
This graph shows the relationship between CO2 levels and time as it goes on. As the years progress the amount of CO2 increases.
How The Solution Will Go Into Effect
The quickest way that we can contribute to help stop ocean acidification is by using more electric based things. For example, an electric car gives off zero emissions, in the recent future we will more than likely begin to see electric cars more and more. The car to the right is a prototype of an electric car that ABB Robotics created, it's a pretty accurate look into the future. |
